Iberia Parish Clerk of Court

The Iberia Parish Clerk of Court is the official keeper of civil court records for the parish. Clerk David M. Ditch oversees an office that handles civil filings, land records, criminal case filings, and other official documents. As the office states, "We are proud to offer you e-recording and e-filing access 24/7/365." That around-the-clock access is one of the stronger features of the Iberia clerk's system.

The office at 300 Iberia Street in New Iberia also records conveyances and mortgages, issues marriage licenses, and maintains many other official records. The clerk's office is entirely self-sufficient, running from statutory fees collected rather than from tax revenue. That is the standard model for all Louisiana clerks of court. Older records go back to 1868 for conveyances and to 1959 for mortgages.

The Iberia Parish Clerk website at iberiaclerk.com provides full contact information, online portal links, and fee schedules. The office also notes an important change: "Simplifile and CSC are no longer accepted for e-recordings as of 1/1/2022." All e-recordings now go through E-ClerksLA only.

E-ClerksLA covers conveyances from 1868 and mortgages from January 1, 1959. That is a deep historical record set. For e-recording of mortgage and conveyance documents, the office uses E-ClerksLA. For e-filing of civil and criminal matters, use Clerk Connect.
